Website Content Planner for Indian Businesses
Know exactly what content to collect before handing your project to a web designer - and launch 2 weeks faster.
Get the Free PlannerThe single biggest reason Indian business websites get delayed - sometimes by weeks or months - is missing content. A business signs a contract with a web agency, the agency starts the project, and then the work stalls because the client has not provided their photos, logo, text, or key information. The agency cannot build around empty spaces indefinitely, revisions multiply, and what should take 3 weeks stretches to 2 months. This planner solves that problem before it starts. It gives you a complete, page-by-page checklist of every piece of content you need to gather before the build begins. Each item specifies exactly what format is needed (a JPG? A Google Doc? A WhatsApp number?), why it is important, and common mistakes to avoid when providing it. The planner also includes a copywriting shortcut: 20 questions to answer in plain language about your business, from which your agency can write your website copy. Many business owners dread "writing their website" because they imagine a blank page and formal writing. These 20 questions are conversational - answering them feels like a chat, but the answers give a copywriter everything they need to write every page of your site. Businesses that complete this planner before starting a web project typically launch on schedule, with significantly fewer revision rounds.
Sections in this template
Homepage Content
Main headline (or answers to the 3 headline questions), subheadline, hero photo or image, 3–4 key services or benefits with one-line descriptions, 2–3 testimonials with client names and locations, primary CTA label and destination (WhatsApp number, form, or booking page). This is the most visible page and the most important to get right before the build.
Checklist: [ ] Hero photo (well-lit, shows your space, team, or work) [ ] Headline answers filled in [ ] WhatsApp number confirmed [ ] 3 testimonials with names and specific results [ ] Key services list with 1-sentence description each.
About Page Content
Business origin story (100–200 words written conversationally, or audio/voice note the agency can transcribe), team photos with names and roles, list of credentials and certifications with exact registration numbers, total clients served or years in business, and the 1–2 behaviours that differentiate how you work.
Services Page Content
A complete list of every service you offer, with a 2–3 sentence description for each. For each service: the specific customer it is for, the key benefit or result it delivers, and the price or price range (if you show pricing). Services without descriptions will delay the build or result in generic copy that does not convert.
Format example: Service name | Who it is for | Key result/benefit | Price or starting price | Any key details (e.g., duration, what's included). Repeat for each service.
Gallery or Portfolio Content
Photos of your work, facility, products, or service in action. Minimum 10 images at a resolution of at least 1200px wide. Clinic owners: photos of the reception, treatment rooms (clean and well-lit), team in professional attire. Manufacturers: photos of the factory floor, machinery, finished products. Restaurants: food photos in natural daylight, interior ambience. Phone camera works fine if lighting is good.
Quantity guide: Homepage hero: 1 strong photo. About page team: 1 per team member. Gallery: minimum 10, ideally 20+. Services: 1 per service. Before/after: minimum 3 pairs if relevant to your business.
Testimonials
At least 3 specific, named testimonials. The most effective format: the client's full name or initials + location + the specific result they got + how their situation changed. WhatsApp screenshot testimonials work well and look authentic. If you need to collect more, a simple WhatsApp message to satisfied clients asking for a quick review note typically gets 50–70% response rate when accompanied by a direct ask.
Weak testimonial: "Great service, very professional." / Strong testimonial: "My son was terrified of dentists before Dr. Mehta. After his first visit, he asked when we're going back. Couldn't be happier. - Sunita R., Viman Nagar."
Contact and Local SEO Information
Full address exactly as it appears on your Google Business Profile (door number, building name, street, area, city, PIN code), primary WhatsApp number formatted as +91 XXXXX XXXXX, email address, Google Maps business URL (share link from Maps), working hours for every day of the week including public holidays, and any landmarks to help first-time visitors find the location.
Technical Details
Domain name and the login credentials for the registrar (or ask your agency to purchase a new domain on your behalf). Hosting account details if an existing server is being reused. Any existing website login if a migration is involved. Social media profile URLs to link from the website footer. Any third-party tools to integrate - booking systems, payment gateways, live chat tools.

Brand colour codes (hexadecimal, e.g., #181818) if you have them. Any existing brand guidelines document. Samples of existing printed materials (visiting card, brochure, signage) so the agency can match the visual style.
