Most Indian business websites have 5–15 things wrong with them that are silently killing conversions and search rankings. The problem is not usually obvious - the site "looks fine" to the owner, but visitors are leaving in 3 seconds without taking any action. The issues are often invisible: a phone number that is not a clickable link on mobile, a hero image that takes 6 seconds to load, a WhatsApp button buried at the bottom of the page, or no mention of the city in the page title. This audit checklist walks you through every element that determines whether a website generates leads - from speed and mobile experience to CTAs, local SEO, and trust signals. You do not need to be technical to use it. Each item has a clear yes/no check and a plain-language explanation of why it matters. Items are rated Critical, Medium, or Nice-to-have so you know where to start. The checklist is designed to be completed in 60–90 minutes. After completing it, you will have a prioritised list of fixes that typically takes a developer 2–6 hours to implement - and the impact on enquiries is usually visible within 2–4 weeks.

Mobile Experience (12 checks)

Does your site load in under 3 seconds on a 4G connection? Are buttons and links big enough to tap with a thumb (minimum 44px height)? Does text stay readable without zooming? Is there a visible WhatsApp or call button on mobile without scrolling? 70%+ of Indian website visitors are on mobile - this section is the most critical in the entire checklist.

Page Speed (8 checks)

Total page weight (should be under 1.5MB), time to first contentful paint (should be under 2.5 seconds), image compression (no uncompressed photos above 200KB), font loading method, number of third-party scripts, and hosting server response time. Measured using Google PageSpeed Insights - enter your URL and screenshot the Mobile score.

Calls to Action (7 checks)

Is there a WhatsApp CTA button? Is it visible above the fold without scrolling on mobile? Does every page have at least one clear next step? Is the phone number a clickable tel: link? Is there a sticky CTA (fixed to the screen on mobile)? Does the CTA language tell the visitor exactly what to expect ("WhatsApp for a free quote - reply within 2 hours") rather than generic text like "Contact Us"?

Local SEO (9 checks)

Is your primary city mentioned in the browser title tag? Is it in the H1 heading of the homepage? Is it in the first paragraph of text? Is your full address in the footer of every page? Is Google Business Profile set up, verified, and linked? Is your NAP (name, address, phone) consistent between your website, Google Business Profile, and JustDial?

Trust Signals (6 checks)

Are there at least 2 named, specific testimonials visible without scrolling (not just on a separate testimonials page)? Is there a photo of the owner or team? Are credentials, certifications, or years in business visible? Is there a Google review rating or count? Is there any media coverage, award, or third-party endorsement?

Content Quality (5 checks)

Does the homepage headline clearly state what you do, who you serve, and where you are - in one sentence? Is pricing visible or a clear indication of price range given? Is the About page personal and credible (avoids corporate boilerplate)? Is there a clear explanation of what happens when someone contacts you (what to expect after WhatsApp/form)?

Technical Basics (6 checks)

Does the site have an SSL certificate (https:// not http://)? Is there a custom 404 page with a link back to the homepage? Are all images loading correctly (no broken images)? Is the site indexable by Google (check by searching site:yourwebsite.com)? Is Google Analytics or equivalent installed and tracking data?
